Terms of Service
Welcome to KodePops. By signing up with KodePops and/or using our services, you are agreeing to these terms of service, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations.
🤔 How does KodePops work?
KodePops is an online platform for learning how to code, featuring a built-in code editor.
✍ Your Responsibilities
This page explains the terms by which you may use our online and/or mobile services, website, and software provided on or in connection with the service (collectively the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Terms of Service Agreement (“Agreement”) and to the collection and use of your information as set forth in the Privacy Policy, whether or not you are a registered user of our Service. This Agreement applies to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service (“Users”).
General Conduct:
- You may not copy, distribute, or disclose any part of the Service in any medium, including without limitation by any automated or non-automated “scraping”.
- You may not make excessive automated requests to our backend services except those coming from our extensions, websites, and clients. Excessive requests or circumventing our security mechanisms may result in a temporary ban or account termination.
- You may not make use of KodePops content to abuse or cause harm to other people.
- You may not abuse KodePops services/code to disrupt our services or cause harm to other users. If you find a security or privacy bug on KodePops, please report it to us at help@kodepops.com or via Twitter.
- You may not collect or harvest any personally identifiable information, including account names, from the Service.
Changes and Termination:
We may, without prior notice, change the Service; stop providing the Service or features of the Service, to you or to users generally; or create usage limits for the Service. We may permanently or temporarily terminate or suspend your access to the Service without notice and liability for any reason, including if in our sole determination you violate any provision of this Agreement, or for no reason. Upon termination for any or no reason, you continue to be bound by this Agreement.
Interactions with Other Users:
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other KodePops Users. We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor disputes between you and other Users. KodePops shall have no liability for your interactions with other Users, or for any User’s action or inaction.
🏫 School Accounts
The Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (“COPPA”) requires that online service providers obtain clear and verifiable parental consent before receiving personal information from children under 13. Because KodePops provides the Service to School to benefit and enhance the School’s curriculum, KodePops RELIES ON SCHOOL TO OBTAIN AND PROVIDE APPROPRIATE CONSENT, IF NEEDED, TO COLLECT STUDENT INFORMATION. School represents and warrants that School has the authority to provide consent for KodePops to collect information from students before allowing students under 13 to access our Service, and that School has provided appropriate disclosures to students and parents regarding School’s sharing of Student Data with service providers such as KodePops. We recommend that School provide a copy of our Privacy Policy to parents and guardians. Please email help@kodepops.com for more info.
🛡 Privacy
We care about the privacy of our Users. You understand that by using the Services you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personally identifiable information and aggregate data as set forth in our Privacy Policy, and to have your personally identifiable information collected, used, transferred to and processed in the United States.
🛡 Security
KodePops cares about the integrity and security of your personal information. However, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security measures or use your personal information for improper purposes. You acknowledge that you provide your personal information at your own risk.
đź”— Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, advertisers, services, special offers, or other events or activities that are not owned or controlled by KodePops. KodePops does not endorse or assume any responsibility for any such third-party sites, information, materials, products, or services. If you access a third party website from the Service, you do so at your own risk, and you understand that this Agreement and KodePops’s Privacy Policy do not apply to your use of such sites. You expressly relieve KodePops from any and all liability arising from your use of any third-party website, service, or content. Additionally, your dealings with or participation in promotions of advertisers found on the Service, including payment and delivery of goods, and any other terms (such as warranties) are solely between you and such advertisers. You agree that KodePops shall not be responsible for any loss or damage of any sort relating to your dealings with such advertisers.
🚧 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, KodePops shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your use or inability to use the Service; (ii) any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein; (iii) any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service; (iv) any bugs, viruses, trojan horses, or the like that may be transmitted to or through our Service by any third party; (v) any errors or omissions in any content or for any loss or damage incurred as a result of your use of any content posted, emailed, transmitted, or otherwise made available through the Service; and/or (vi) the defamatory, offensive, or illegal conduct of any third party.
🍉 Governing Law
These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use our Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you are no longer authorized to use the Service.
